Face Matters was formulated from a platform of need.
I know better than most the effects of stress and hormone imbalances on your skin. After suffering some severe personal trauma I developed chronic rosacea. Disillusioned with skincare products and using my knowledge and experience of over 30 years as a facialist, I began creating products which resolved my rosacea problem.
With a passion for all things beauty since early teens I attended college in Wiltshire and from there went to Thalgo in Canary Wharf London to train in their French marine therapies. Interested in natural and botanical approaches I then moved on to High Holborn London to train with Aveda; Ayurvedic practices and botanical formulations which resonated so deeply.
Face Matters was launched 10 years ago. Winning multiple awards and having been featured in many magazines my first retail partnership was with Fenwick Bond Street where I was reported as being one of the top 10 facialists in London, also with some collaboration with The Princes Trust and The London College of Beauty Therapy it’s certainly been an amazing journey. Still a facialist to the Fenwick Family in London and to many celebrity actors; the facial studio in Hampshire continues to flourish with both gents as well as ladies.
The Face Matters Ethos. Your skin in your 40’s is not what it was in your 30’s and it can leave you feeling insecure, frustrated and a tad overwhelmed. I understand and Face Matters is here to help with simple, effective skincare that gives you the natural confidence you deserve, at any stage of life.
Performance – I keep the products simple and packed with goodness. I really don’t believe that our skin needs an overcomplicated routine.
Plant Powered – Nature often has all of the answers. Which is why I use nothing artificial and the best Soil Association approved ingredients from my manufacturers in Dorset.
Sustainable – I don’t test on animals, everything is made lovingly in the UK, tested on humans in Hampshire and the climate is a huge consideration.
Using these natural and organic plant-based ingredients is expensive, but the benefits gained from the purity and integrity of the formulations is unquestionable – not only in the fragrance and texture, but also in the way that natural ingredients are absorbed by the skin, resulting in an overall improved skin health.
My mission is also to help other women, who through no fault of their own, have been left traumatised and homeless, by donating to women’s refuges in the UK every month via Refuge.org.
The Face Matters products have gone on to win awards with The Beauty Bible; The Beauty Shortlist; Global Green Beauty, Muddy Stilettos, Professional Beauty.
