At Ludo, we are committed to supporting women in the workplace. In 2023 we launch Ludo Fertility, our module to support women and businesses through fertility treatment. We know how important it is for a women to feel engaged, valued and able to be her authentic self at work.
Natalie Sutherland is a massive advocate for supporting employees at work undergoing fertility challenges. She is working with Nickie Aiken MP on her private members bill Fertility Treatment (Employment Rights) Bill due for its second reading on 25 November. The aim of the bill is to make it mandatory for employers to give employees paid time off for attending fertility treatment appointments, just as it is with antenatal appointments.
However, even if this passes the second reading, it will be many years before the law is changed. In the meantime, employees are reliant on their employers putting in place policies to support them with fertility challenges. To bridge the gap, Nickie is launching the Fertility Workplace Pledge next week during National Fertility Awareness Week. She is calling on all employers to pledge to become a Fertility Ambassador and to sign up to four simple and voluntary commitments. At Ludo, we champion this incredible initiative.
Ahead of the launch, Natalie and Ludo would be super grateful if your firm could consider signing up to the Pledge now, so that the massive media push this week will be even better.
Below is the letter from Nickie which sets everything out. If you’re happy to pledge, you just need to email Nickie at Nickie.aiken.mp@parliament.uk and she will add your company to the list of champions and send you a PR pack and social media material.
